QnR Group announces its participation in DETANGLE — “DElivering holistic, cusTomised And easy-to implement solutioNs towards efficient implementation of EU leGislation and compLiancE” — a new European initiative designed to support the practical implementation of key EU cybersecurity legislation and help organisations address compliance requirements in a more structured, operational, and cost-effective manner. The project, officially started on 1 January 2026, is funded by the European Union and supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre. In an increasingly interconnected digital environment, products and services have become highly cyberdependent, incorporating a wide range of digital elements and interfaces. At the same time, the cybersecurity threat landscape continues to evolve, exposing organisations to vulnerabilities that can affect the security, resilience, and trustworthiness of ICT products and services. While the European Union has introduced major regulatory instruments — including the NIS2 Directive, the Cybersecurity Act (CSA), and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) — their practical implementation remains challenging for many stakeholders, particularly startups, SMEs, operators of essential services, digital service providers, CSIRTs, and security operations centres. What DETANGLE aims to deliver
DETANGLE has been established to respond to these challenges by delivering an integrated framework and digital platform that supports compliance, certification, incident management, and cross-border collaboration across the European cybersecurity ecosystem. Its mission is to “untangle” the complexity of EU cybersecurity rules and transform regulatory obligations into practical, scalable, and sustainable tools that can be effectively used by organisations of different sizes and levels of cybersecurity maturity. To achieve this, the project is developing a one-stop-shop solution built around five core components: an Integrated Incident Management Platform, a NIS2 Compliance Tracker, a Cybersecurity Collaboration Hub, a Cybersecurity Certification Support Framework, and a CRA Supervision & Enforcement Toolkit. According to the project’s official materials, these offerings are designed to combine technical tools, operational workflows, and capacity-building activities, supported by training, documentation, and awareness-raising actions that facilitate the practical adoption of EU cybersecurity legislation and promote long-term exploitation of project outcomes.
A strong European consortiumDETANGLE brings together 14 partners from 8 European countries — Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, Luxembourg, Denmark, and Slovenia — combining expertise in cybersecurity, research, industry, policy, software development, system integration, and sector-specific applications. The consortium is coordinated by ITML CY, and its multidisciplinary composition is intended to ensure that the project’s solutions are aligned with real operational needs and can support cybersecurity implementation across multiple sectors and regulatory contexts. The project’s official kick-off meeting took place in Athens, Greece, on 14–15 January 2026, marking the formal launch of the collaboration and alignment of partners on objectives, governance, technical roadmap, and stakeholder engagement strategy.
QnR’s role in the projectWithin the project, QnR plays a key role in the development of the DETANGLE Cybersecurity Certification Support Framework, a set of tools designed to streamline cybersecurity certification processes and promote the adoption of secure-by-design principles. More specifically, QnR contributes pre-certification assessment capabilities that will help organisations better understand the security characteristics of complex ICT products and evaluate their readiness for certification under EU cybersecurity certification schemes through standardised approaches. QnR also leads task activities related to pre-certification assessment and risk notification tools, as well as the preparation of the respective project deliverable. These activities are closely aligned with DETANGLE’s wider objective of enabling organisations to navigate cybersecurity compliance and certification requirements with greater clarity, confidence, and efficiency.By participating in DETANGLE, QnR further reinforces its commitment to supporting Europe’s digital resilience and contributing to innovation-driven initiatives that bridge regulatory complexity with practical implementation. Through its expertise in cybersecurity and digital transformation, QnR is proud to contribute to a European project that seeks to strengthen compliance, enhance trust, support cross-border cooperation, and foster a more secure and resilient digital ecosystem for businesses, institutions, and citizens alike. The project is funded by the European Union and supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre.
