Summary: Overweight and obesity are increasing at an alarming rate throughout Europe and this epidemic presents a major barrier to the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases. Including the new EU countries, a total of over 200 million EU citizens are affected. In many countries now more than half of the adult population is overweight, and around 30% of adults are clinically obese. In some regions the prevalence among children is rising at the speed of one in four affected, and some studies have predicted that the current generation of children are likely to have shorter life expectancies than their parents because of obesity.

Client project : Virtual Pathological Heart of the Virtual Physiological Human

Summary: VPH2 aims to develop a patient-specific computational modelling and simulation of the human heart to assist the cardiologist and the cardiac surgeon in defining the severity and extent of disease in patients with post-ischemic Left Ventricular Dysfunction (LVD), with or without ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR). Specific computational methods will allow clinical decision making and planning of the optimal treatment for left ventricle-valve repair.

Summary: PLAY2SPEAK aims at enhancing the offer of skills on debating and oral communication through games simulating rhetorical and debating competitions. PLAY2SPEAK addresses four major needs: To equip adult learning teachers with up-to-date knowledge, methods and practical expertise for active teaching/training adults through the use of simulation games, to supply new more effective tools, courses, methodologies; to equip financially disadvantaged and unemployed young adults with crucial oral communication and debating skills, necessary for insertion into the labour market and to fight social exclusion and experiment with, promote and cultivate novel and more effective methods of learning/teaching disadvantaged adults by turning learning into an enjoyable experience.

Summary: Aims at promoting Process Innovation within Eastern European SMEs through the development and the validation of an ICT-based system that will support innovation managers in implementing really innovative solutions into local enterprises in order to increase their organisational performance and improve their competitiveness within the enlarged market. As a supporting action, training activities will be carried out to qualify highly skilled Process Innovation Managers (PIM trademark) thanks to the involvement of Certification Bodies belonging to the International Certification Network. PIMs will act as enablers of a widely process innovation diffusion within Eastern European SMEs in order to enhance the enlarged Europe performance worldwide.

In these sectors appears reduced participation of women, particularly in working medium and high skilled. The plan aims to prevent, through the adaptation and advancement of women in establishments of the above disciplines. Client project: An Internet Based Electronic voting System

Summary :   
1) Scoping Specifications - Quality Strategy: The scope of the work to be done in terms of the User Requirements analysis and specification of e-VOTE services will be set. The functional specifications of the system and its associated application modules will be specified. The consortium?s Quality Strategy will be agreed.
2) Technical Design and System Implementation: Assuming that the consortium will decide to go ahead and implement the e-VOTE system after an internal review on month 12, the e-VOTE service platform and its associated application modules will be implemented.
3) Pilot System Validation: The pilot system set-up will be specified in detail, together with an analytical description of the trials to be performed. Validation and evaluation will be done in usergroup activities on all aspects of the prototype system . hardware, software, communications, for all e-VOTE services.
4) Demonstration and Assessment: The validated e-VOTE pilot system will be publicly assessed for its voting services as a working European demonstrator with the potential to support electronic voting throughout Europe. The assessment tests will address technical functionality, service quality, user acceptance, cost efficiency and potential "users".
5) Dissemination Activities and Exploitation Plan: Dissemination activities will be maintained throughout the project.s lifetime. The e-VOTE exploitation plan (being in line with the Dissemination and Use Plan produced in month 6).
will be based on the specifications of a European-wide Electronic Voting System for a) evaluating the solutions for electronic voting provided through the e-VOTE services, b) identifying the exploitation potential of the system and c) identifying the value added chain of e-VOTE services and facilities offered to potential providers.
